Our district has not had a contract for almost two years, I actively searching for a non-education job. I would give two weeks notice but am I still bound to 60 days?
I am new to this board so I really appreciate any helpful input. I am just posting this over the weekend but will also be directing questions to the doe on Monday.
My main question is this: do hiring districts make a huge distinction between obtaining a ceas completed online vs an on site program?
I am open to both options, but I do not how school districts realistically look at this.
AFAIK, a CEAS requires you to do student teaching. The classwork and how and where you do the classwork probably doesn't matter much to districts (with the exception of "prestige" schools like Princeton)
However, I would imagine that an online CEAS would have difficulty arranging that Student Teaching portion. The Student Teaching portion requires you to work about 3 months full time as a teacher (without pay of course) at a school in your state.
