I've got 3 years in. I am 46. Not relying totally on teacher's pension, but am wondering if it makes sense to continue teaching or if I should cut my losses and try to make money in corporate.

And yes, I am a dedicated teacher, I'm not in it just for the $$$, (as if)...but am trying to be financially responsible.

Do you think the whole thing is going to crumble?

OP Thanks, Ron. It actually does help.

Now for my next question: will that federal law make up the shortfall caused by NJ govs. not funding our pension?

ron/nj It's not a law but an agency of the gov't. I doubt the pension system would ever go bust but the gov't would cover most if not all of it.
