Looking for hotels in NJ that are close to NYC

Hello, I am trying to gather information on nice hotels that are within 30 minutes from New York City. Can you suggest towns in New Jersey to stay? I am looking at Elizabeth, Newark, Secaucus, and Greenville New Jersey. We can't afford a hotel in New York City. We want to see the Statue of Liberty.

ron/nj I would stay with Secaucus or North Bergen. Greenville is a section of Jersey City.

CJ I don't know when you're traveling, but the Westin Newport (in Jersey City) is having a special rate this spring for a bit....best value you'll find and right by the PATH train into NYC. There's also a Hyatt it there, a very expensive W in Hoboken, and a Sheraton in Weehawken that's right by the ferry to Manhattan.

CJ Also...consider the Hilton Newark Penn Station. It's attached to Newark Penn Station which will make it ultra convenient for you. I've never personally tried that hotel yet but I'd imagine it's good. If you can catch the Westin Newport during the 125 a night promotional that would be the best bang for your buck...super awesome hotel. I'm looking to...See More
