Is all of NJ going with UBD (Backwards Design)? How much say does Grant Wiggins have in ed. policy in our state? Will we eliminate just about all the works of fiction in our curric's?

kay UBD has been around for several years. Basically the main concept is to look at what we want the students to learn and to design lessons to meet those goals. Looking at the purpose of what is taught. I have never heard about not using literature to create UBD units of study.

Reality check Grant Wiggans is full of himself. The new state standards, slated to take effect in the 2012-2013 school year are the multi- state standards adopted by a large number of states.
