I've been teaching in the DOE two years full-time and this year I'm in a child care leave position. The teacher I'm filling in for moved. When are they required to let the school know of their plans to return or not next year? When does the school have to inform me of my position status?
VVinMore info- I've been working in two schools overseen by the same principal. This year I was given the opportunity to take the child care leave position at our pre-k site. To my knowledge we haven't heard from the teacher on leave about what her intentions are. I'd really like to stay in the position and want to know what my rights are.
Hello there I am a sub Paraprofessional and my exam is on the 15th of March. I was wondering since I couldn't prepare much can you take the exam again if you fail it? Please if kindly anybody can reply before that date will be helpful thank you!
I have my bachelors degree in educational studies, have taken and passed all required NYS exams including the edTPA for early childhood, but have failed my student teaching due to two weeks of absence for my grandfathers funeral. I have passed all my observations from my clinical supervisor as well. Does anyone know what I can do next?
AmyYes, I have done the student teaching through my university before I graduated. So all I'm missing now is the completion of student teaching, I'm not sure who would be able to allow me to do that. I have contacted my school for a recommendation letter, but was denied that.
Has anyone had any assignments that included diaper changing? I know it's part of the job but I'm worried about this. I've worked in schools where some of the teenagers wore diapers. I know it shouldn't bother me but it makes me uncomfortable.
eve324You won't generally be asked to do it alone and as long as the other paraprofessionals know you are new and have never done it before they will help and teach you. As with anything the more you do it the more comfortable you will become with it.
I'm looking for a good and affordable online masters program that would lead to initial licensure for the state of New York, does anyone have any recommendations?
