I'm planning to move from New Mexico to Rhode Island and/or Mass. the summer after next. I grew up in NH and I'm certified in both NM and NH in 7-12 Language Arts. I hear the hiring is bleak for teachers, so I am starting to prepare now. I'm looking to make myself as marketable as I possible can as I hear English teachers are a dime a dozen. Do you have any suggestions? I'm considering gaining certification in History, do you think this will help? I'm planning to become certified in MA, CT, and RI. I also heavily involved in extracurricular activities at my current school, which I love dearly. What else can I do to build myself up to be what districts are looking for? I have exactly a year and a half to plan before the big move.

Thank you for your insight.
