The One Voice Inst...See MoreEveryone, if you are an educator who can clearly identify the issues we face in education, ready to stand up, be counted, and actively speak out and raise our voice for the changes we all KNOW must be made - there is a movement making its way across the country to NY this November you should know about ([link removed]).
The One Voice Institute of Elemental Ethics and Education is an organization with a mission: to facilitate positive, critical change in educational processes and policies in 2008 and beyond.
The strategy at the heart of all activities and events hosted by The One Voice Institute of Elemental Ethics and Education is three-fold:
The first goal is to support and amplify the voices of educators, to gather useful information gleaned from their varied experience, and to organize and publish their suggested resolutions to problems plaguing academic systems.
Secondly, the organization is dedicated to the publication and dissemination of practical solutions and steps authored by the experts into the hands of the political, government, and business leaders to educate those that will invariably influence the future of learning in the United States and throughout the world.
Finally, The One Voice Institute of Elemental Ethics and Education will make every effort to raise the consciousness of its audience with regard to the positions, philosophies, perspectives, and track records of political candidates running for office with regard to issues of education.

I am from out of state. For the last two weeks I have been working in a school district. But I want to break my contract and return to my former state. I have not got a south carolina certificate yet. Can the south carolina district ask my former state to pull out of state certificate. I will appreciate any input.

My best advice would me to make a list of the pros and cons of each position and let that guide your decision. The biggest plus I could see for the full-time position would be the benefits package and having a guaranteed income.
I was an assistant before going back into the classroom and I really enjoyed it. It was nice to walk out at 3 with no paperwork to deal with when I got home. Not having to do sub plans when I was absent was also a nice perk.
Are there cooking schools or vocational schools that are looking for foods teachers? How about a high School looking for foods& nutrition, in a vo-tech or family and consumer science program ? Also, everyone says the salaries are A BIT lower, what does that mean to a 5th year teacher with a master's degree? I currently make 60.

I'm certified in special ed and I know longer want to teach in that area. I'm thinking about obtaining a certificate in a related arts area such as, art or theatre/drama. Would I have a difficult time finding a job in this area of certification?

I am certified in special ed but I am thinking about adding art to my certification. Can anyone tell me if there is a need for art teachers? I don't want to get this certificatiion and find I can't find a job teaching art. Also, if you are an art teacher what are the pro's and con's of this job? Thanks for your help.
