I am a physical education/health teacher and a cheerleading coach in CT but I am rolocating to Chattanooga and looking to teach PE and coach cheerleading there. If you know of any openings or websites that could help me out, that would be great! Thanks!
I don't know if you have found out anything yet, but, all Chattanooga schools fall under the Hamilton County Dept. of Education. There is a website [link removed].
I will be moving to Clarksville from Texas. I am certified in Special Ed and EC-4. I would love to teach kindergarten. I have lived in Tennessee before and have taken the Praxis Special Ed test and the PLT K-5 or something like that. Will I have to take any more test and is what curriculum is used in kinder?
We have just moved here as our daughter teaches at Ross View Middle just down the road from us. We do have nice homes and a nice neighborhood in Virginia Hills just off Ross View Rd. You should have no trouble finding a position, but you must act qickly as school soon begins here. If you would like a new addition to your family this year, an AFS foreign exchange student,or like to volunteer with AFS let me know. I am the public relation's chair for the Miss Tennky Area AFS Leadership Team (see [link removed].

Hi, I'm looking to locate a fellow teacher who taught in TN, moved to Lousiana, then returned to TN. Several LA teachers were wondering how she's doing. If you know how to contact her, please pass this along. Nora Monk (OES) and Shirley Anderson ([email removed]

I am a teacher in Franklin, TN. Metro-Davidson schools have a very negative reputation if the school is not a magnet school, which, of course, Antioch is not. Many people living in Nashville send their kids to private schools to avoid the inferior quality of education and violence. If you cannot afford a private school I would advise locating to one of the surrounding areas to the north or south of Nashville. Do what you can to insure your daughter a great school and an easier transition at such a tender time in her life :)

Howdy all! I am studying Biology with a minor in Education and Geology. I keep hearing conflicting information and wanted to get the "scoop". Many recent graduates of CMCSS that I go to school with "swear" that they were required to take Earth Science in High School. I have checked high and low and none of the schools seem to offer Earth Science. A teacher friend even told me that it was the course that new Biology teachers are stuck in until they "can move up" LOL. I would love to teach Earth Science, is it a course that was offered at one time and they just didn't have enough teachers for it? Should I even get my hopes up that I may ever teach Earth Science in Clarksville? Thanks for the input! -Vicki
If you are planning on leaving Tennessee to come to Nevada, check out Teachers4Change...... You need to get the facts regarding the Silver State before you come here......
Chattanooga Teachers, does Chattanooga still have the extra incentives for teachers willing to teach in the 'failing'- not meeting AYP-schools? Do any of you teach at one of those schools? Have any of you taken advantage of the Teacher Next Door mortgages?
