Lawmakers in TN beginning to recognize that Restraint/Seclusion is a problem... perhaps this is the beginning of a good thing... We have a long way to go but at least this is a start hopefully!

Reenacting CP in TN will certainly lead the way backward. I would go ballistic if another adult touched my child.
Then again, the south will always do things its own way. I myself still am scarred from that brutal event.
And TX leads the nation in capital punishment, so I am not surprised they still enact CP!!! Sad though. I have worked in many schools that do not hit kids where discipline is not an issue, btw!

You could probably get hired on an alternative license. Check out this link: [link removed].

I have recently graduated from UTM and I am certified in k- 6. I am moving to Paris and want to teach in the area. Anyone know anything about the hiring going on in the area?
My husband is toying with the idea of tranfering in his job to Nashville. I teach in SC now (first grade) and was wondering if you could tell me about Nashville schools. I tried looking for salary info on the dept. of ed site but couldn't navigate it well. I have never been to TN. I would love to teach in a small town outside of Nashville as I'm a small town kind of girl. My current school is K4- 2 with 400 students. It has a real family feel. Any school districts like that around? Any info you can give me would be appreciated.

I need to pass the Praxis I test in Tennessee. I took the three parts the first time and I almost passed them. I took the test a second time and I got the same scores. How can I get help to improve my scores? I know that the short amount of time they give me to answer the questions is the problem.
As part of a graduate research project, I need to gather data from current teachers. I’m researching the use of technology in the classroom and what factors affect it. If you could just take a few minutes to complete my survey, I’d appreciate it. The survey is online and has 15 questions.
