MY NAME IS ALICE SMITH AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME.
SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME THAT HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 30-ODD YEARS AGO.
COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN?
UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT.
THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CL ASSMATE.
AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL .
'YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG,' HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE.
'WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?' I ASKED.
HE ANSWERED, 'IN 1975.WHY DO YOU ASK?'
'YOU WERE IN MY CLASS! I EXCLAIMED.
HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY.
THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, BALD, WRINKLED, FAT ASS, GRAY-HAIRED, DECREPIT SON-OF-?*&^% ASKED,
I'm thinking about moving to the Nashville area. I have 7 yrs. exp. with a Master's. I'm certified for K-6. Any suggestions? Is it hard to find work in this area? I'm a single parent, so subing is not an option. Also, how can I find a pay scale? Thanks
You can also try the outlying counties around Nashville: Williamson County, Rutherford County, Wilson County, and Sumner County.

Is it hard to find a teaching job in the Knoxville area? I'm a single parent so subbing is not an option. Also, how do I find Knoxville salary schedule? Thanks
Starting 32nd year and cannot take it anymore. Schools don't need or want teachers. They want robots who can do what a program dictates--no thinking required. What other full time jobs are available for retirees? I need to work for ten more years.
This is my first year doing In school Suspension. I need any help or advise on how to make this program the best at my high school. Please give me any advise or information you can. thanks
I've been teaching for 19 + years in the public school setting and am now in Memphis, Tn.; but want to get out very badly as soon as possible. I'm an elementary music experienced teacher and need help finding a better school district close to me. Does anyone know of any jobs openings near the 38002 zip code?

Sadly, this seems to be true. I was recently overlooked for one of several interim positions at a local school in East Tennessee. I asked the principal why I was not considered... she actually used this as a reason: try to higher people who have paid their dues. Initially I was just happy to have been given a response. Then I thought, "why would a professional admin use THAT type of criteria to hire someone as important as a teacher!?!?" Later a teacher from the same school told me she was hired (fresh out of college) because her professor put in a word for her. /sigh Oh, and one of the positions... taken by a retired teacher (another 'friend' I presume).
Since I don't 'know' anyone... and I've never been (nor want to be) a brown-noser... I wonder if I'll ever get hired!
