I need to find a job ASAP, I am a new graduate in Elementary Education. Where am I most likely to find employment in Tennessee? My husband is suddenly wheel chair bound and I must take care of my family.

I am looking for a TN teacher to join our postcard exchange. This is our 6th year and we are just missing a few states. If you have questions or would like ot join, please email me at [email removed]!
Normal Park Museum Magnet is considered the best, and has received national awards for such. It's K-8. and my kids go there. It has a TINY zone and receives some magnet students.
CSAS (k-12) and CSLA(k-8, that feeds to CSAS) are also very good. CCA is a creative arts school (6-12) that is 2nd in the area for ACT/SAT scores, no sports though.
Any school out of the central city area is also a good bet.
DOn't get me wrong, we have great teachers everywhere, but the reality is that the schools that have more parental involvement and community involvement are the schools outside the city limits....
You can always look at the test scores but that doesn't show the reality of the school. You can look at the racial mix, but again, that doesn't show how the school works and how well the students interact. Best of luck.

Parental involvement is amazing and we have a fabulous PTA. I teach there and my kids attend there and we are extremely pleased.
Does any one know if the Office of Strategic Teacher Recruitment and Staffing at Memphis City Schools is finished with all of their hiring for this upcoming school year, 2010-2011?
It appears that they are still hiring, I got a phone interview that happened on July 2nd. The receptionist at MCS stated that there were several positions still available. After the new teacher pool requirements are complete then you can finally interview with principals. That is as far as I got, hope that we both land jobs this year!

I know that this was posted a long time ago. I am actually setting my sites on Putnam Co. and would appreciate any advice you can give me in landing a position there.
