I have a dui in 1984, and a dui in 1985. 25 & 26 years ago and that is all that is in my background. Is it common to deny the opportunity to substitute based on dui convictions from that long ago? Any comments would be appreciated
If you have a few minutes, would you please...See MoreThe Green Interfaith Network, Inc. (a recently-formed organization for NE Tennessee focused on Earth stewardship and eco-justice) is interested in learning about any Earth Day activities that are being planned by or for schools in NE Tennessee. We can help to promote your event/s, if you'd like.
If you have a few minutes, would you please describe the activity and the date/s, times, and audience for it? We'd like to connect people doing similar things, if possible.
Also, if you have any students (middle- or high-school?) who might be interested in helping us set up our website, as a community-service opportunity, please let me know.
Best wishes for a rewarding and productive New Year! Carol

Our daughter is in 8th grade at Oak hill but would like to try homeschooling. We need someone to set-up and teach the program from our home. If you would like additional information please contact me at 615.202.1554.
Kind regards,
Charles and Dorinda Hill 383 Jones Pwy, Brentwood TN 37027
The site asks teens to offer their first name, year of birth and zip code and submit. It also invites the pledge taker to share the pledge with peers via social media. We are not asking anyone to register or capturing e-mail addresses. We have no way to contact pledge takers, and the pledge does not ask for anything beyond its pure intentions.
If you are a teacher and would like a packet of posters, pens and pencils for your class to encourage them to take the pledge, I'd be more than happy to send one to you. Just e-mail me your mailing address to [email removed]

Yup. Now my question to the original poster is this. Can I bring my husband, kid, dog and three cats with me or are you still deluded by the 19th century rules for teachers that we are all singletons willing to be boarders
What school district is looking for a teacher? The elementary field is glutted. Don't you already have a million applicants? Is your school a 20 mile walk from the nearest civilization or public road or something
Thank you. In the past, I also have renewed at a college during its summer workshops. After your comment, I am considering just doing that again. Admittedly, the summer workshops start out so stressful b/c you are cramming so much info into a week or two. However, like you mentioned, I might really struggle to find enough conferences to attend because I am "out of the loop."
It is my understanding that a teacher on an apprentice license, renews by accumulating three college hours or 45 clock hours at conferences. It is my understanding that a teacher on a professional license, renews by accumulating six college hours or 90 clock hours at conferences.
You may check my accuracy regarding those facts by visiting the state's dept. of education page and clicking on "renewal of teaching certificate."
There are online courses to renew. However, I have never attempted those.

The details are on the state TN website. There are differences if you have a master's degree. It depends on what the state requirement is. I think it is easier to document the 3 credit hours for a college course, but if you can find enough workshops, and you can get accurate documentation, that would be good. If you are teaching already, most of the experience and workshops that go with working as a teacher count to renew already, so they do not have to go back to school or attend other special trainings. That is how the guidelines read.
