I am an elementary teacher/librarian seeking a position in Utah. Is there an Office of Public Instruction that lists current teaching positions available in your state? What are the prospects of finding employment in your state?
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TEACHERS Open Until Filled All Schools (except Indian Hills Elementary) Position Responsibilities: The teacher’s responsibilities are to provide and implement instructional strategies for greater student achievement, under the direction and support of the principal.
Qualification Requirements: Equivalent to any bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in appropriate educational field. If your major is biology, you will more than likely be teaching a science class. You do not have to be an education major in order to teach. However, you will be placed in a program that will help to matriculate you into the teaching field. Experience working with adults are preferred.
Salary: The starting salary for teaching positions is initially $30,000. However, the district has a plan that will be phased in within 5 years. Teachers who have their master’s degree and have participated in our teaching program, will make no less than $50,000. Currently, I am involved in a Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program. The Federal Government has enacted a program that will forgive a portion of your student loans every year until all of your loans are forgiven by the end of the 5th teaching year. In order to qualify, you have to be teaching in a Title 1 School. Gallup McKinley County is a title one school. Therefore, you should be able to qualify. The greatest benefit of teaching besides having June, July, and August off is that I feel as though I am making a difference in this world. I love teaching and believe that you will also.
Application: If you are interested in receiving an application please leave me your current address. When I receive your address, you should expect to have an application within a week. You can contact me with your inquires or to just leave me your address through phone or email.
Contact: Anthony Sisti. I am currently a teacher at Gallup High School. I love my job and community so much that I have decided to help out and attract new potential teachers into this district. Human resources have their hands full and I have decided to help them out. If you leave me your address, I will send you more information about the district and community that you might be joining. Feel free to ask me any type of personal questions that you may have.

Seeking an K-3 position. Do you know of any that are open and don't need to have a certificate for a certain state. I have a K-3 from Ohio. The certificate is a five year that expires in 2010. I would really like to teach kindergarten or first grade, but I'd take second or third.

I am setting up a US postcard exchange for the 2003-04 school year. I did it last year and have 20 returning participants. I am looking for ONE classroom from each state. Utah is still available. If interested, please email me and I will add you to our mailing list. You will be responsible for obtaining 50 postcards and stamps. You or your students will write a message including state info, history, landmarks, etc. and send them out during our mailing period, Oct. 1 to Nov. 15. I will supply you with preprinted mailing labels for your convenience. You can also sign up through my website. My students loved it and I am sure yours will too! The International Post Card Exchange is up and running! We have a number of participants. We have representation for a vast number of US sites (with the exception of the above listed states). Internationally, the response has been phenomenal!! International representation has been received from several parts of Canada, Germany, Mexico, Singapore, Poland, UK, and Australia. Several US states have not yet joined. If you live in one of the following states, please join and become a part of this WONDERFUL experience!
We still need a UT class to be part of our postcard exchange. Any grade is okay. It's a great way to teach many, many skills and the kids love it. Email me if interested.
We are Australia's first and only online directory where teachers wishing to organise a teaching exchange or holiday swap can register their details. Each exchange or holiday swap is displayed as a mini "web page" complete with photo albums and relevant information. You can spend hours reading the different profiles, viewing photos and visiting links to teacher exchange and holiday swap locations all over the world. Check us out at the link below!
We are a new postcard exchange, and we need a kinder, first, or second grade class from Utah to participate. You will need to purchase 50-55 postcards to mail to all of the other states (and maybe a few to Canada). I am compiling all of the information, and will send all of the addresses out as soon as all of the "spots" are filled. In return, you will receive a postcard from every state, all throughout the year. This is a very exciting project! Please join us!
Teachers, If you are looking for an internet project to get involved in this year, please check this out. It will begin the first week of October and run through February. It will tie Social Studies and Science curriculum together through comparing community and weather data. I have done this project in the past, students enjoy it and they learn a great deal. Use the link to see the details, if you are interested please leave your information at the site on the 'i note! If you see that someone from your state has joined, that is okay. We can have multiple participants from the same state. If you have any further questions email me. Thanks, Terry Stoufer Project Coordinator
