My name is Justin Harty and I am looking for a former teacher of mine named Wade Moline. He was my sixth grade teacher at Franklin elementary in Spokane. If anyone knows him or has heard of him please contact me.
Correct. Wade Moline was confronted by his victim after many years of alleged abuse. The next day he killed himself. He wasn't awesome. He was a serial pedophile.
Well, Thats unfortunate to learn. But, dirt bag or not, pedo or not. He was still a good influence to some people. I remember the day he went missing, and I remeber crying after seeing his obituary in the paper months later. It was some time after that I found out all the details and why... Im sorry about the hurt he caused, and that his life ended the way it did. Its an awful situation for everyone involved... But, as for me and my experiences with him; He was always a dedicated educator, even when he was dealing with a less than receptive class. He alone sparked my passion for science that Im still perusing today (17 years later), and I'll always be grateful for the roll that he played in my life.
On the Seattle Public Schools schedule, there is base and the TRI supplement. You add the two together. I'm not sure how other districts work in the area.
From what I understand, they don't have to give you all of your years of experience. This is something to think about when moving. I've met teachers with 10 years experience who assume they will end up on step 10. It doesn't always work that way. I don't think she will end up on step 1, but they may not give her every year.
Seattle and environs have a shortage of certain teachers. Social studies? No way. It is very hard to get a job doing that. Science? It really depends on what science she can teach. If she can teach high school bio, chem or physics, she will have an easy time of it. Middle school science doesn't have much of a shortage. She would be in a very good position if she can teach math or special ed.
Can anyone give some insight into how difficult the WEST-B is? I struggled with a few of the reading comprehension practice tests I found online and it's hard to get a good grasp on how difficult it really is. Any tips on how to manage the time (I believe you have 5 hours to get through all sections). Would love to hear from anyone who has taken it. Any information at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I took all three the first time and I would not recommend doing that to anyone. I ran out of time on the writing portion. I am actually having to retake the writing portion again this morning. One may want to consider taking two of the tests on one day and one on another day. Or take them on three different days if that works for someone.
I used the study guides offered on [link removed].
Managing your time? It's important to know that all the minutes are combined for all the test you signed up to be tested on (added together) so I kept looking at the screen as it kept counting down the minutes and then would look at how many questions I had left in the section I was in. So pace yourself in each section.

Thanks so much for the advice! I unfortunately am taking the entire thing in one shot :(. Am I destined to fail? Do you know if you get 4 and 1/2 or 5 hours for the whole thing? Do you suggest a minute per question?
Anyway, good luck this morning with the writing portion! Any other tips you can give are greatly appreciated.

Depends on what affordable cost of living means to you. Seattle housing prices are skyrocketing. Seattle is going to give San Francisco and New York a run for their money for most expensive housing in a few years. Cities north and south of Seattle in the Puget Sound area are somewhat better priced, but the prices are going up there as well.
Spokane in eastern WA is not overly rural, but is a smaller city with lower housing prices. That might be what you're looking for. Teaching jobs are somewhat harder to come by.
From what I've been told, WA teaching licenses for out of state candidates can be difficult to get as well.
There really is no teacher shortage in WA. Maybe in certain, specific districts and disciplines, so it is hard to say if you'll get a job.
Hi there, I am wondering what math curriculum you all are using in grades K-8. Do you like it, are you in the process of adopting or piloting a new math curriculum and what are you trying? I am trying to see what everyone is using and how you feel about it. Thank you for your input!

I am separating from employment this July. I need $30, 000 to pay down some debt and purchase a new heating and air- condition system for our home. Is there a way I can withdraw money tax free from my defined contribution. I heard there was a way to borrow from special funds that one can roll over into...
