We all need to be very aware of the special sessions that Manchin is planning on calling shortly. The Senate is full of bully pulpit politicians trying to keep their names in the media. Besides Eric Wells, Jeff Kessler is also an example of a Senate member who has been in the news media recently spewing anti-teacher ramblings.

We need to remember that the Senate places blame for the woes of education squarely on teachers, as if raising children in West Virginia is the responsibility of the teachers. They absolve parents, and the students, of any and all responsibility, while forgetting that teachers have been given a plethora of content standards that are nearly impossible to master if teachers taught 365 days a year. (Public - Google West Virginia Content Standards if you doubt this.) Fortunately, the House side sees responsibility for performance as being multi-facted, and to this point, has been able to stand firmly against Manchin's Senate puppets.

annoyed I'm with Kate. Wish I had the solution.

I guess all we can do is vote those who despise teachers out of office.

It takes a bit of research to find out who it is. Not alot of time- just a few minutes.

WV metro news is a good place to find out who they are.
