Gilmer County Schools

Gilmer County schools have been taken over by the state. Does anyone have experience with working in a system under these conditions? I was just wondering what to expect for day to day operations.

been there It happened in Hampshire county. I was in one of the middle schools, but great problems also existed in the high school. When the county was again given control a supeintendent was hired. We knew what was expected of us and we were treated as professionals. The superintendent which was hired and is still there call usand considers us Walmart workers, plus she has on occasions called us wimps. We don't know what is expected.

Sounds like Hampshire County has a lawsuit just waiting to happen. At the VERY least, your superintendent should be required by your board to attend sensitivity trainings. "Wimps?" She's ignorant.

been there Yes the superintendent hides in her office, taking no responsibility. I have noticed that over the last couple years the westtest scores are going down. I did enjoy that year that the state was in charge.

been there to JMO JMO: It is very difficult to even get a lawyer to file a law suit. I was libled and slandard. I have the evidence and witnesses. Could not get a case.
