Sharun LatifA great site to use in class for interactive math games. I have used it in my class. It is quite engaging and my students love learning from this. Thanks for this link.
SamanthaThanks for the link. kids love technology these days. They are more engaged doing the interactive activities than doing a worksheet. My school has access to Mathematics program. It is a paid site but has very engaging and challenging interactive activities on all the strands. It is great for lesson use as well.
I was blocked from subbing by three districts in Butler and Warren County Schools (Ohio). One of the districts blocked me from subbing 10 years ago. As a result the blocked me from subbing in all18 districts under their Aesop. Although this happened last Devember.
Linda J. SchnurI have no intention of subbing for the Butler and Warren County schools, but I want to speak to the HR director to clarify a few things. If he does not car them too.bad. Today I found out that the HR Director of one district that reported me last fall has been dead for about months.
I am actually in the same boat. I finally had open heart surgery, but it should have been done a few years back. The harsh reality is that coworkers and administration may act like they care about your health problems, but they don't. Especially if it means extra work for them.
I have been teaching over 10 years, but not at any one school for more than three years. I have resigned twice for health reasons. My recommendations and evaluations are good and I like to teach reading (most of my experience is as a reading specialist). I just signed a contract to teach reading online. It pays $22 an hour, which isn't bad. There just isn't that many teaching positions worth applying for that I would have a good shot at. It's really all about who you know. My goal is to find a position that I can stay with until I retire. Since I haven't found anything close to that, then I guess I will stick to the online gig. There are times that I wonder if I should go ahead and switch careers. I'm just not a young chicken anymore and it's heart breaking how much time and money went into teacher education if I really were to do that.
Linda J. SchnurI am a three time cancer survivor Two of the cancers, breast and kidney I had in the two years before I retired 11 years ago Since then I had no new reoccurences of cancer the only surgery I've had since then was one to repair an abdominal hernia In the last year I have been in the ER three times because of dehydration.
