After walking briskly back and forth to get the second grader to school, I was able to make it to spinning class in time. I got my 17 miles in. It sure was hot and humid in there this morning.
Elaine/ret/INWalk + spin = commitment. Yay, Men. 14442 today. Not enough to compensate for the last three days of ice and fog. Though I did do some walking in place sessions. Still, it's movement. Bring on spring!
People lie for lots of reasons, often because it seems like a way to get what they want with less effort. But like many short-term strategies, it's ineffective long-term.

Also I ...See MoreHello I am an Australian school teacher about to take on a role home schooling 3 American primary (Kindergarten and Year 3) students in Indonesia running off the California Curriculum.
Yes you read that correctly!
I would like to know what subjects are mandatory learning at the kindergarten and year/grade 3 level.
Also I would like to try and find some teaching programs with suggested activities /resources linked to these standards.
I definitely think you should take a look at the standards on the Texas Education Agency's website. They are really thorough. Also, when it comes to reading...we use a guided reading system. Children in kindergarten should be reading on a level A and end the year on a D, give or take. You can google "Guided Reading levels" to see the levels for each grade level. There is a website called "Reading A-Z" that has great printable books that are aligned with the guided reading levels. You have to pay for it, but it's a great resource. I highly recommend it!
