Hi everyone, I am currently in my 17th year teaching, and I am considering a sabbatical, starting in Sept. 2018. I would be able to set it up, because of our block schedule format, so that I earn 75% pay over two years (75% in 2018 and 75% in 2019). I would be on sabbatical for a semester in 2018 (Sept. to Jan) and a semester in 2019 (Sept. to Jan)...See More

My principal sent an email stating that we are expected(which means required in her language)to attend all baby/wedding showers unless we have district training. Now I would usually try to attend these gatherings but to require them puts a bad taste in my mouth. I'm still trying to figure out if she has the authority in Texas to require this.

aughter and grandson, but in doing so, I will need to take the Praxis exam. Does anyone have some good advice on what to concentrate on and what resources to use?

I have an old Praxis book will that work? I will need it for elementary.

I could use some good advice on this exam. I have not taken this exam before and need to pass.
someday Take the full length practice test on ETS website. If you can pass that you will be fine. It costs 10 dollars I think. If you are already teaching the content these test are more common sense than anything and you should know the buzzwords.

I have tried unsuccessfully to acquire my teaching service from 29 years ago to receive increments abroad. I have been constantly told the Dept of Ed does not hold information for longer than 7 years. Also the school is now closed. Does anyone know how I can aquifer this information? I have tried the archive section in the City Library.
