Can anyone help clear this up for me? Is this a state wide practice or a district decision? I am looking to relocate to Wisconsin but I am confused at what I am seeing. As a K teacher in California for 30 years, I am pretty sure that teaching Kindergarten is just as (if not more) rigorous than other elementary grades.
Beautiful fall like day. New college football coach and staff, new and improved attitudes of players, first home night game under new lights tonight and new confidence and much improved support of the fans. I am not a football fan, but I know how critical this sport is to the bottom line.
7 year old had her first piano lesson last night and the 10 year old picked up his alto sax last night for first year in band. A new era of music has fallen upon our once peaceful abode! Let the practices begin!
Bev-MI8,556 steps so far. WW weigh in" -.4 I'll take it!! Hopefully it will be the downward movement. men52, good job in the bike class and your new job!! :)
Bev, yay for the beautiful number on the scale. And for the not done yet attitude.
30 minutes of walking and nearly 14 miles on the bike. We ride from IU South Bend to Notre Dame campus, forgetting that there's a home game tomorrow. Lots of people already. Great ride.
Birthday dinner out tonight! Local place has free steak on a "roc" dinner on your birthday! I have planned well to enjoy this. Hate seeing the age creeping up. But...what can you do? Keep movin"!!!!!!
I just finished my first week of teaching again after almost 6 years off. I am enjoying it so far. I like the age group, the small class size and the staff. They asked me to sub in the enrichment class Tuesday when I came in. I came home exhausted that day. Add a couple little ones with runny noses with that "not noticing it's running down my nose" coughing in me, I ended up fighting a cold myself. So far it hasn't been too hard to manage. I hope to go to spinning class in the morning depending how I feel. My hip barely feels sore now so I am ready to return to riding.
My brother and family lives in the Tampa area so I have been reading their posts on getting prepared if the hurricane hits their area. Interesting hacks like putting a quarter in top of a cup of frozen water in the freezer and storing all important documents in dishwashers.
Elaine/ret/INto Judy2/CA--sorry I directed my comments to Judycaret, and it was you who recommended the movie. Thanks. I'll be eager to hear how many book club members have also seen the movie. Bet there will be lots . . . Saturday.
Judy2/CAElaine, when you've finished the book, watch the movie. It is every bit as good as the book! The actors are wonderful and they breathe life into the characters.
