In three more days, I get students, again, after a four year hiatus ("retirement") I've subbed a bunch over that time, so I have kept my hand in. Still, I find myself wondering if I still have the moxie to make it work. My new principal is a great guy and I sure don't want to disappoint. He took a chance, hiring an old man like me!
Elaine/ret/INHave a great year, Bill! You'll feel fresh and reinvigorated when you see those eyes pointing your direction. Lucky kids to have a seasoned veteran teacher.
11,963 steps today: walk with friend, church salad luncheon, solo walk. Sadly, I'm not averaging the minimal 10,500 steps over the past week. Guess I'll have to step up my game. Ha!!
I'd like to see the Rocky Mountains up close. Return to Ireland. Get my study cleaned out so I can have new flooring installed. Seeing the Pyramids seems an unattainable goal right now.
Do you have a "bucket list"? If so, what was on the original list, and what's left on it that you hope do someday?
flackaI went to Alaska about 8 years ago and crossed Hawaii off the list in May. The states that are left are Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and North Dakota. I hope to drive to FL this winter and visit MS, AL, and AR so that will leave ND for another time.
Judy, way to attack that mini-gain with maxi-steps. No moss grows under your feet.
With company for DH's 55th class reunion and the annual Habitat auction, the last 3 days have been a blur. One day (at the auction) I had 13K+ steps. Yesterday, working with photos, FB, website, and press release, I had just over 1200. So it goes.
Today is back to usual with 11,216 steps. August is starting off as a cool month. I asked DH to bring me shoes vs. sandals Friday at the auction.
