There are a number of reasons, for one it reduces trolling of other teachers because you can only comment to another teacher's post if you are logged in. Yet it still allows you to post anonymously, which has some benefit if you want to vent.
In 2017, it's almost impossible to find another website where you can post anonymously. It's standard to register to post on a website, and as a bonus it allows a great many features that improve the user experience.
If you are going to put this behind you, hold your head high and move on. It's not the end of the world but you will have to be honest as you fill out applications and they ask if you have been terminated or non-renewed.
Talk to your principal and ask for suggestions as to what you should do differently at your next job. What were your weaknesses or what led him/her to your nonrenewal? Keep an open mind and listen to what he/she says. Think about what you hear and try to figure out how you can overcome these weaknesses. You may be asked about it in an interview so have your answers ready and well thought out.
If you are going to fight the non-renewal, you should check with the union and carefully read your contract. If the reasons for nonrenewal are not valid, talk to an employment lawyer who is familiar with these kinds of things. If it was due to something protected by law (race, gender, etc) then seek legal advice and contact EEOC or whomever handles it.
Whew--16,325 steps in 3 different walks. Before the monsoons. We actually cut short the last walk--navy skies, driveway-sweeping winds, and rain on the left shoulder. What's with a spring rain coming from the East?
judycaretOooh, your weather sounds dramatic, Elaine. Lovely weather here now that the heat wave's over. I ran a couple of errands this morning and still had time for 10,000 steps. Yay.
Walked 5,000 steps then did my exercise class. Unfortunately, then I gorged, really gorged, on pizza. Just when I was doing so well, sigh. Other than still feeling stuffed, I had a great day.
For some reason I bought and ate almond joy candy bars today. Not a gorge, but still as tasty as pizza.
If it's not raining tomorrow, I hope to tackle the group outdoor ride to get about 7 miles in. If I am going to work my way up to a 3 hour 34 mile ride by the end of August, then I need to stay on track and train.
Men, I love your goal . . . 34 miles is worth working for. Wow!
We came home today, so not so many steps. I did do a library sponsored nature walk. It was lovely, but not the pace I'm accustomed to. 6,155 steps.
I finished reading "The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy" today. Just delightful. If you're a fan of "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry" (and who wouldn't be--ha!), you'll love this companion book. "Queenie" takes place at the same time as "Harold Fry." Both very memorable.
I recently started looking into professional liability insurance. I'm a teacher and want to make sure I have coverage. I saw that the NPEA organization offers it as an included benefit in the membership. Does anyone else have liability insurance?
