Beautiful weekend then cooler temps have moved in with rain yesterday. Sunny this afternoon. Everyone is anxious for more "spring" weather. DH and I cleaned up the huge tree that fell a week or so ago. Just missed the house by 10 feet! Now I am "eyeballing" the other trees on the edge of the woods.......Scary!

Elaine/ret/IN We spent a few days in northern Georgia over the week-end. Gorgeous waterfalls. Lots of walking at a slow pace (camera angles from every step). Steps steps steps. Cardio for sure on the climbs.

Was able to get to 17 miles in cycling class. It was very humid in there even with the fans blowing directly on me. I got a little Whaley during one of the more demanding segments. My knees are a bit sore, too.

I had a friend who had a horrible experience with a nanny so when she hired a new one she asked me to check on her for me. She sent them to the town park at a prearranged time and I went an observed without the new nanny's knowledge. I was happy to be able to report she was wonderful with him- attentive, playful and appropriate.

When we adopted our second child in Denver we had to stay in state until all of her paperwork cleared. It ended up being close to a month. After a couple of days in a motel room with a newborn her new big brother, a 2 yr. old was going stir crazy so we looked into a short term preschool placement. I saw a couple of truly horrid facilities, places I wouldn't send my dog to, before finding a fabulous lab school preschool. The irony is that there was little difference in price and the quality was so different. I wondered if some parents just didn't know what high quality child care looked like.

Gosh, I've been so busy, I haven't had time to even lurk! Retirement really hasn't been retirement. I am SO busy with subbing (almost out of days, though) and grandkids. mrsd Closest I usually get is Stronghurst, IL. But then we shop in Burlington, as it's only 20 minutes away. Or sometimes, hubby and I stay in Burlington across from the casino so that I can indulge in my favorite activity - people watching at the casino. And maybe play a few slots.....
