My DD owns a dog walking business in a major city. She is in and out of apartment buildings and outside walking all day and what she has observed ranges from interesting to disturbing. While many caregivers of children or the elderly are interacting and paying attention, many simply ignore them and park the person in the stroller or wheelchair and chat with other caregivers, ignore the person, or yak on the phone.

The observation about dog walkers and pet sitters is no better. Some tie the dog(s) up to a sign post while they go get food or more dogs. Others put the dogs in parked cars while they go get food or more dogs. Parked cars get so hot and can lead to a deadly situation very quickly. Some of her clients have found that their previous walker/sitters have been in their home using drugs or having s3x.
