I've considered an anonymous post checkbox. I'm not sure it's worth the effort to program the clutter it would add to the interface, and the likelihood it would compromise one of the goals of registered users - reducing trolling. By the way, I removed another (new) post agreeing with your perspective, and basically saying they were leaving the site. I removed the post for two reasons:
1) the purpose of the new system is to prevent responses without logging in
2) I have always removed postings where people announce they are leaving.

OP here, I'm sure you can tell with my IP. I'm completely in agreement with what you said about encouraging posting while signed in, however, I have a strong feeling people are going to create multiple accounts for times when they wish to be somewhat anonymous should they feel the need to do so.
