First, I love the new format, but I foresee a potentially large issue with requiring forced logging to respond. Let's say there is an issue which you wish to have fellow teachers advice, view points or suggestions. Those teachers ask you a question. You cannot respond to that question without giving up your anonymity.

Example 1:

Anonymous post: I have a problem with my administration singling me out for one reason or another.

Logged in Member1: Have you tried to talk to your union rep about this?

Logged in Member 2 (Unable to respond without logging in): This is the OP. Yes I have talked to him and he suggests I do this, but am not exactly comfortable with this. Do you have any other suggestions?

Example 2:

Bob R/CA I've considered an anonymous post checkbox. I'm not sure it's worth the effort to program the clutter it would add to the interface, and the likelihood it would compromise one of the goals of registered users - reducing trolling. Bob R/CA By the way, I removed another (new) post agreeing with your perspective, and basically saying they were leaving the site. I removed the post for two reasons:

1) the purpose of the new system is to prevent responses without logging in

2) I have always removed postings where people announce they are leaving.

I'm completely in agreement with what you said about encouraging posting while signed in, however, I have a strong feeling people are going to create multiple accounts for times when they wish to be somewhat anonymous should they feel the need to do so. I don't have a problem with people getting multiple accounts, if they have extra email addresses. That seems like a useful approach not just here, but anywhere that requires registration.
