In three more days, I get students, again, after a four year hiatus ("retirement") I've subbed a bunch over that time, so I have kept my hand in. Still, I find myself wondering if I still have the moxie to make it work. My new principal is a great guy and I sure don't want to disappoint. He took a chance, hiring an old man like me!
GRITS Hi Bill! GRITS here trying to login and get a usable password. Best of luck in your new position. You are brave! I have no desire to return to the classroom although I admit to so much empty time. Enjoy your new endeavors.

bill T/Fl A. Bunch of friends and associates proclaimed me wacko for doing this at age 68, but asaneighboring science teacher, who is about my age, remarked that others felt the same way about her and that she tells them that she chooses to be where she is right now and that is simply all there is to it...end of discussion. That is pretty much how I feel too...See More

Elaine/ret/IN Have a great year, Bill! You'll feel fresh and reinvigorated when you see those eyes pointing your direction. Lucky kids to have a seasoned veteran teacher.
