I am trying to research or find the reasoning behind many districts in Wisconsin that pay Kindergarten teachers $10- $12, 000 less than other elementary educators. Why is regular K (not 4K) not included in the elementary scale?
Can anyone help clear this up for me? Is this a state wide practice or a district decision? I am looking to relocate to Wisconsin but I am confused at what I am seeing. As a K teacher in California for 30 years, I am pretty sure that teaching Kindergarten is just as (if not more) rigorous than other elementary grades.
