I had about 80 days of unused sick leave when I retired. They paid me only 10% of what it was worth but there was no way I could or would use it all up. I did take some days off during my last year. Check with your district about getting some pay out for the unused leave. Most of my friends in other states got paid out at about 35% of the value.

In 30 years I have not taken any sick days (one c-section maternity leave and two days for minor surgery and a handful of family hospitalizations and that's it!)
