Presenting students with challenging material in a safe, positive, environment certainly does promote brain growth if students are willing to engage, but what about the students who are not willing to engage, can growth happen, and how do you engage the student(s) you can't force participation? What are your thoughts on brain malleability and its relationship to instructional practice and students everyday learning?

men52 No, I don't think much growth happens with students who are mismatched with teacher teaching style and the student's learning style. We experienced that just last year with our own now fourth grader. He completely shut down in the classroom to the point where the school had these huge teams of professionals meeting every 3 months to figure out what...See More
