HI all: I was hit by a ball while working at a school in nyc. I got a minor concussion. Doctors and hospital said that I need to rest a lot to heal. It can take months to heal. The uft told me that since I'm not a regularly appointed sub I can't get any kind of coverage for days that I needed to take off. It's now at least two months later and I'm still not back to normal. They also said that I can't collect workers comp. It seems unfair like general sub teaches are discriminated against.

Has anyone had experience with this or have any advice?
haha You must be an employee of the school or an agency. You should be covered by some kind of workers comp. What that includes or looks like might vary from state to state. You went to the Dr. to get treatment and document the original accident/injury so I would follow up with someone. Whenever there is an accident that required medical treatment there...See More
