10,823 steps today. Great to hear from everyone. Warming up here in northern MI. The Orioles and Rose-breasted Grosbeak are here! Up today at WW. I am so tired of this up and tiny downs. Wanting that "magic"pill!!!

jrod Well, it rained all day! I woke up an hour earlier than usual to try to beat the storms. As I was eating my breakfast, the storm came in. There were flash flood warnings so I knew I dared not drive anywhere for my walk. By 10 am, the storm just wasn't letting up. So I had to come up with a plan to get my steps and miles in.

judycaret jrod, good work! I think indoor loops are so hard—and now I realize I don't even have a looping path in the condo. Good thing it's usually nice here. Ha.

Bev, boy am I with you. I ate a little more yesterday and shot up 2 lbs. Some days I really hate the scale.

First, congrats to Judy in joining the Grandma Club! I really loved being a mom but being a grandma wa ev n better although our circumstances changed years ago when we adopted all 3 siblings and became part of the rapidly growing grandparents raising grandchildren. Having that kind of responsibility at our age was nothing we ever imagined but the grandchildren are a blessing.

I managed to get a spinning class in this morning instead of riding outside due to on and off storms. We had a sub instructor who I have had before. I think she's the toughest of all the different instructors I have had. I love her toughness and expectations for us. I am pretty sure she's an outdoor rider because of her comments and visualizations that only an outdoor rider would relate to. I am a bit sore in my right knee but not in pain. I got in a little over 18 miles in 60 minutes. I walked youngest grand to school back and fourth twice today. The sidewalk slants towards the street so it's hard on my feet to walk on it. I noticed that when a I lived with that planter fasciitis for 8 months. My feet always were worse after that trek. She likes to ride her scooter home so I pull that with me at pick up.

Our community lost a 19 year old college student this week in a biking accident that hit home with all the biking community. Each time we go out we always remember that we are riding for enjoyment and people in cars and trucks often are in a hurry to reach a destination. We are no match. This time it was the cyclist's error that caused the accident. However all of us have been in situations of "almost" in an accident due to drivers' lack of attention. I have already contacted the mayor about 2 intersections that need some looking out where I have witnessed or have been the one it happened to where drivers ignore pedestrian crossings numerous times. I wish there were solutions as more and more people are biking, walking and running.
