hahaYes, it does have an impact on RAT, Step, etc. but I don't recall the exact number of days you need to work to make it all work. In the realm and scope of things, it really doesn't matter all that much.
I have done everything except my security clearance is still pending. Does anyone have an approximate timeline on how long it takes to clear security and get the firm offer? I guess I just have to wait, wait, wait...
Will all this be done in time for me to report by the 20th?
I'm starting to think that I have a better chance of finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn through a field of 4 leaf clovers than getting a teaching position through DDESS.
It's been a month since my interview for a stateside position. Any advice on how long it sometimes takes to find out if you made the cut or not?
IcanreadSometimes it takes a while, depending on what's going on for the principal. Up to a month or 2. You can call HR in Virginia to find out if the position was filled. A few people have had success with that. Have you checked your EAS application to see if it's locked? Sometimes your application will be locked if you are the chosen applicant.
Seeing the timelines of others helped me, so h...See MoreI will be flying out to Japan from NC this Thursday and I am soooo excited! This process has been an adventure and I wanted to thank you all for your help and aiding through everything! I'm sure that I'll have more questions along the way, but I am finally content now that things are official!
Seeing the timelines of others helped me, so here's mine:
April 30th: Phone Interview
May 4th: Tenative Offer
May 29th: Travel Packet, In-Processing Packet, and Passports received
SLP-T@SLPtherapiat-Interesting, that's where I was hoping to go. When did you interview? I'm heading right down the road to Jacksonville. I will be doing both.
I'm stateside, and just received my first paycheck. It is for one week only, and is about $100 less than I expected. Is the first check typically off a bit, or were my expectations off?
New hire here for Japan. Single here. I am thinking since joining the DODDS teacher group and reading about the taxation of a percentage of the move that I might just do unaccompanied baggage and 2 bags with my clothing and get other items as needed once I arrive to avoid paying so much in taxes..... Anyone have opinions? Any info appreciated.
When does the healthcare coverage with dodea start and is there a retroactive to my hire date or retroactive at all? Basically when does it kick in for a new hire?
Once you accept a tentative offer, and the firm offer comes, is it too late to reject the offer. I know that sounds horrible, but I have some family worries, that present a slight chance that I might have to reject an offer.
Good luck!
