Just saw positions posted for internal applicants on offical email:
School Psychologist: Okinawa
Counselor: Daegu
Although they are only open to current DoDEA teachers working in the complex, if they are not filled they would then likely have to go stateside (if they don't open it up to DoDEA worldwide).
hahaI don't disagree with any of that. Although, there were a fair number of counselor positions in the transfer round last year (like maybe close to 10). They were all combined with a teaching position though so that probably makes a difference.
How does the government recognize if your elderly parents are your dependents. We moved my parents in with us this past year and need to know how we could bring them with us if I was offered an overseas job. (Just trying to get my ducks in a row AND be hopeful:)
At this point, the entire in-processing packet has been submitted to include physical, official passport, and online anti-terrorits training. I'm assuming the E-QIP piece will be next, so I'm trying to stay on top of that. Any information would be helpful or your experience with this process. Thank you so much!
em1427Okay that's about where we are now (starting week #4 since tentative offer). Once you submitted the online questionnaire and fingerprints, how long after that did you receive official offer and orders? Again, I know everyone's timeline is different haha but it's nice to have a ballpark idea :) thanks for the info!
hahaIt's supposed to be a percentage of your disposable income (or something like that) but it never made any sense to me. Luckily, I just came across this COLA calculator which worked out to very close to what we get:
HelpOthersThank you haha. When I receive my first full paycheck, I will see how close the calculator is for me. If even a little close, this is a helpful tool.
I have all my paperwork in and am waiting for E-Qip. Will I get a link? Do I go in somewhere? How does this work? Is this the background check, or are they already doing background check work?
i❤️slpsYou will receive an email from security personnel that gives you access to the e-QIP site. Detailed instructions will be included with the email. You can google the form so I have an idea of what information you need, so when you get it, you can just copy the info.
SandArtI got the e-mail about 2 weeks after the tentative offer. I already had a word document with all addresses and relevant info, so filling it out was quick and easy. I believe it is part of the background check process. If I remember correctly, you have to list all of your addresses for the last ___ years and addresses of references.
micorazonkilleenI say, yes, still include the notarized letter granting permission to move overseas so there is no doubt that he has been notified. Besides, he will still have to sign/notarize DS-3053 for official passport for minor child(ren).
micorazonkilleenHR will let your friend know if DLA will require her to go to court or not. I wouldn't worry. If she hasn't heard anything yet, she may be in the clear. Just have her ask HR to touch base with them regarding visitation rights... :-)
5/15: interview
...See MoreFrom start to finish, here is how long it took from interview to travel (destination Germany). I hope it helps anyone looking for a frame of reference. I know timelines vary from person to person depending on location and other details, but here is my experience.
5/11: email from secretary asking for interview
5/15: interview
5/23: tentative offer email
6/6: eQIP email/completed questionnaire online
6/9: fingerprints completed and FedEx'd
6/14: completed passport info and mailed to HR
6/28: received inprocessing packet email from HR
7/6: physical completed, inprocessing packet emailed to HR
(Insert the longest 3 weeks of my life, apparently my HR person was on leave at this time and my stuff just sat there)
7/28: firm offer/orders received
8/1: TMO office at local base for counseling briefing and set up unaccompanied, HHG, and flight
8/10: unaccompanied baggage completed
8/11: HHG completed (I only had around 5,000 lbs)
8/15-16: driving to Atlanta from FL to drop off POV
Worldwide EducatorThank you for that information. I received my tentative offer on 08/04, returned it on 08/07 and then received passport info on 08/08. No E-Qip or physical info yet, but it's still early.
em1427Also, the divorce states that if they live more than 100 miles away, visitation will continue as stated, "unless otherwise specified". Could a letter be created and signed by both parents to clarify the other type of visitation agreement? Sorry for all the questions!
micorazonkilleenHave her send divorce decree and find.all order to HR to see if they can check with DLA in advance to see if it will be an issue!!! Be proactive. Tell her to tell them she's hear about others having to go to court to have visitation rights modified and want take care of issues in advance if necessary!!
I received my firm offer and travel orders today. FYI - I received my tentative offer on June 30th. Now to start working on getting the movers schedule so I can schedule my flight.
i❤️slpse-QIP submitted July 26th and firm offer and travel orders received at the same time on Aug 2nd. My background check may have possibly not taken a lot of time because my previous one just expired earlier this year.
