If your account is marked as Inactive, who is the next person to contact you? Is it HR? Or the principal of the school? How long does it take to be contacted after the account is Inactive?

In the past there have been issues with nepotism and not hiring the most qualified people so this is one of the ways they try and eliminate/minimize those kind of problems.

I am a secondary German and French teacher and still have not gotten an interview yet. Still waiting. Are there needs for teachers in these subjects? Getting worried that there are no openings for French or German.
hahaDon't know about French but there should be a need for German in the schools located in Germany. I recall that a few years ago they decided that all teachers had to be US citizens which meant that the non-US citizen language teachers had to be phased out. It would be helpful if you had another subject area to offer such as Language Arts, etc.
ScholarYou may want to see what all you would have to do to be elementary german. All DoDEA elementary students have "host nation" classes where they learn culture and language.
newdodea12345Teach, I that's what I was thinking but read otherwise. My dilemma is not a bad one to have but a dilemma nonetheless. At this point, I'll have to make a decision and be happy with my decision. Thank you so much for the response.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I was wondering if it is possible to transfer from DDESS to DODDS or are they two separate entity and the transfer does not happen? Also, if you are made an offer, does the offer letter state what your benefits are? I can't seem to find the benefits, i.e, px commissary use in Puerto Rico.
TeachI have friends who waited years to get into DoDDS even though they were in DDESS. However, I was hired from DDESS for a job in Japan this year and it was the first I had applied. However, I had spent 3 years overseas in Okinawa as a local hire and I knew people throughout Japan which I am sure helped me to get an interview so quickly.
I have been doing a little research and it seems that it may take several weeks to get a firm offer. Because school will start for me in a little over a month, and I decline the offer at that point (because school is already in session/breaking contract issues), what will that mean for me?
Someone on the DoDDS Teachers Facebook page posted the following helpful information: DoDEA has begun offering online "Comprehensive Onboarding information" for new DoDEA hires and current DoDEA employees transferring duty stations.
1. If you are a stateside DoDEA teacher, are you eligible for the transfer round each year...including overseas locations?
2. If stateside DoDEA, are children of employed teachers eligible to attend the base school?
3. Those of you who have worked in stateside schools, would you agree that the benefits of working stateside DoDEA are worth taking a potential pay cut...currently have 29 years experience and will be starting on
step 5...probably wouldn't take long to make that up if I'm correct...???
afwifeSo just to clarify, a person teaching stateside cannot transfer to other locations? Sorry-I am trying to understand/ We would be stateside right now, but would love to go overseas one day.
