happyteacherThe good news is, there will likely be a couple 0420-0422 vacancies in Japan/Korea/Guam/Cuba and your experience with moderate/severe will set you apart from some of the other candidates.
Regarding interviews...what are those 7 questions they ask? I just did this last year but other than differentiation and why one wants to do this, can't recall the other questions. Anyone remember them??
EuxpatSome bases also provide auto and wood hobby shops. These shops are well equipped with tools, machines, and qualified staff who run them. But bring your own wood and car parts!
No access is provided on DDESS bases, except to the food courts.
...See MoreI'm assuming you mean a completely separate field than their normal field of expertise which, as Teach stated, I would assume would be no, since that person wouldn't appear on a referral list for an area they weren't certified. If you're talking about something like, AP certification for a subject they already teach, then that would be yes.
Last year, my husband was not AP certified. When he had his first interview, the principal asked him if he would become AP certified in XXXX. My husband said sure. When he had the second interview, this time with the assistant principal, she asked if he would become AP certified in XXXX (different from what the principal asked). My husband said sure again. He was offered the job, accepted, and before we moved here in August last year, he completed the two AP certifications first before we left the states. (BTW, not being secretive with the XXXXs, I just can't remember what the 2 were, other than science related, LOL).
Couple of QuestionsYes. My husband just started with DoDDs last year and two of our children attend the same high school he's teaching at. The process is really easy, no special hoops to jump through or anything.
Hi all, I've been lurking for a while but thought i'd say hey. I put in my application in January for anything pk-3rd. I got an email about a referral list for a K position in Daegu. I'm crossing my fingers that my PK/K endorsement will work in my favor here.
Yes, generally the dependents of teachers attend base schools if they choose to send them there. I have known some teachers who send their children to local schools.
IcanreadWe don't have to pay to send them to base schools, right? My husband said he read that we have to pay tuition. Just want to make sure I make the right decision!
hahaNo. Sponsored CONUS hire teachers (and many contractors) do not have to pay and automatically have the right to send their children to the base school.
