ms896Both times I got picked up for a position in DoDEA I was notified within a couple of weeks with a tentative offer. Also, both times I was a picked up the hiring principal contacted my employer for a reference before I got the tentative offer.
Got a referral for a "hub" position. Is this the virtual school? If so, does anyone know if you move to the country of the hub and how often you would have to be on location (everyday, weekly, monthly...)? I know info for virtual teachers is scarce.
If a referral list was generated for a position a week or two ago and then a different applicant who wasn't on the previous list is added to a new referral list for the same location/position...which is more probable: A. there are more positions at that location, or B. the applicant was added to the older existing list from a few weeks ago?
Where could one email for the virtual hub positions? Like for Stuttgart, would you email the main HQ or another office possibly in Europe...or are there principals in charge of these positions?
Shawna11I was told three days in office and two from home. I also heard that you may have to teach during different time zones because of the student locations( not sure about this 100%)
What location/content area? The info I received came from a stateside virtual teacher
hahaNo input on who/where to email. From supporting students in virtual classes there are principals, Special Education Coordinators (I forget the exact term) etc. for virtual school. I don't know where they are located or if the hubs each have their own.
happyteacherHonestly.... I've seen local hires with little to NO experience get hired while extremely qualified and exemplary teacher friends of mine in the states with experience, don't even make referral lists. The odds are stacked against CONUS hires in most locations. I've seen local hires not be able to hack it and quit, leaving classrooms with subs.
Anyone have any tho...See MoreHi! Twice now, I have been placed on the referral list (I get the email) and within minutes I get a second email stating I wasn't selected.
Once, I was even contacted by the school to ask whether I was still interested in the interview. I replied yes but a week later I got the email stating I wasn't selected.
TGIF@IsItFriday, I think it's important to note that what has been expressed here from applicants, new hires, and seasoned workers already working with DoDEA, are experiences reflective of the entire system and should be food for thought for any potential new hire when making the decision to leap.
So....I contacted the State Department to inquire about updating my passport. I was told that the renewal may take months. My passport's expiration date is in July 2022. I'm panicking because I may get a tentative offer. Anybody else in a similar boat?
