Geez. That's a long time. I wanted to tell friends once I passed the background check, but now I'm wondering if I can handle waiting that long!

Odds are good that they will get everything pushed through for the new hires to be where they need to be before school starts. If not, well it's not the ideal way to start but many people get through it and make it work (and there are usually a lot of people at your new school willing and able to help you and your family get settled in).

Fair point TeacherMama722. I hadn't done the math on four months out until you said that! That would be really tough.

Actually most people don't arrive at their new posting until early August so you would still be fine. As long as you have enough time to get your driver's license, CAC card, transportation etc settled before school starts you are fine.
