Only the fast food type places were available, not the commissary. Never tried using the medical facilities, gym etc. If you were just hired, you could ask your school secretary or principal.

In most cases, no. In fact, we had an author come to our school several years ago and he had a book signing at the base exchange, and I had to buy books for colleagues. Actually...from personal experience DDESS employees can use the gyms, water park (there is a fee for the water park) and pools on their locations (at least my location...I assume all state side too). Only location we are not allowed to use is the P/X and exchange unless you are a vet.
