My husband is a retired police officer and has two guns which are his former service weapons. They're sentimental.

I looked into a storage box, and they're over $100 a year. If we're gone 10 years, which is the plan, that's $1,000+.

Anyone know if we can put them in military storage and/or bring them with us?

Supernova Can you leave them with a trusted family member?

SandArt Most of our family members have small kids and/or are against guns in the home. I think we're learning toward a storage box. I could add some jewelry which I don't wear on a regular basis to keep valuables down to a minimum. Thanks for info.

angel I don't know the answer to your question... but what about swords? Does anyone know if they can be brought to Japan?

Teach angel---the transportation office should be able to let you know about swords. There are tight restrictions on knives/swords in Japan, so you may want to consider finding a place to store items like that just in case you cannot take them.

angel Thank you. Based on what has been said previously (things deteriorating), I don't want to use storage for anything. Planning on taking everything with me (not car, selling it). Just not sure about the swords and trophies that I have.
