Travel Orders!!

I just received my travel orders this morning after my umpteenth phone call to follow up with the HR folks. Persistence is key, don't worry about being a nuisance. They have so much going on that you fall off of their radar quickly and easily. I interviewed the second week of May, received a tentative offer that included my in-processing packet a week later. I had it all returned by Labor Day weekend and one week later heard from HR saying they had never received it. I resent right away and we moved forward. Equip email and passport stuff came a week later. I have been calling around to all 3 contacts (passports, security, and my HR person) at least once a week since then. I really think it could have been days/weeks more if I wasn't so annoying/persistent :)

And for those fretting about the terms firm/tentative offer (like I was)...my travel orders email was labeled "firm offer". It all (timelines, types of offers) seems to be different for everyone so try not to sweat it.

onthemove You got an in-processing packet with the tentative offer? Was this a packet with your medical eval and such? I've only gotten the Eqip and Passport. oregonslp Ha! Yes, Mary-Lorraine...clearly I'm a little frazzled at the moment :) I did mean Memorial Day. Whoops! Fingers crossed for you, I had a request for updated referrals before I got my offer so hopefully that's a good sign!

onthemove I made an attempt to call today and found out: a. My HR person is on vacation. ON. VACATION. b. none of the phone numbers I called (3) have working voicemail. Ida Do mind if I ask the date you leave? We haven't gotten final orders, so we wonder how far back the actual leave date will be then we originally thought. Thanks!

oregonslp Seems like the wrong time of year for anyone in this department to go on vacation :( I have no idea what date I leave yet because I can't get anyone on the phone from the travel office.
