I interviewed for a stateside teaching position on February 23rd. A few days later, my references were contacted to complete what seemed to be a locally generated reference form. These emails came from the assistant principal. After about a week, my current principal had not completed the form yet and the interviewing assistant principal called her three times in one day to get the form from her. They spoke on the last phone call and the hiring assistant principal told my current principal that they were trying get their paperwork completed. She asked my principal: "If you could, would you keep her?" My principal assured me she replied positively. Now it's been one month since the interview and two weeks since that brief conversation between the principals. Shouldn't I have heard something by now? Are the reference forms that were sent out a good sign? What do you think they meant by finishing up paperwork? Is the paperwork routine for everyone they interview or just for the applicant ...See More

It can take a while. So if the asst principal got the paperwork only two weeks ago I would think giving HR almost a month from that time would make sense. As haha ...See More
