Thank you for the advice. During the interview, they told me that I would hear from DoDEA and not them so I'm hesitant to contact them. I have emailed EAS.[email removed].

haha That is a standard statement and is literally true since HR sends out the tentative offer notification. Admin also used to stress that they recommend their first choice to HR but HR makes the final determination which is also literally true since admin's first choice must pass credential re-check, background check etc.

haha Interesting. Were any of the probationary folks SPED? I know the union has complained that a number of SPED teachers were non-renewed in the past few years, despite getting no/very little training in DoDEA specific procedures, etc.

happyteacher Is it common for Dodea to not renew contracts for teachers? Seems like it costs a lot of money to move people and their stuff to Japan or Bahrain or Germany and then just let them go. Do they have to lots of documented evidence of insubordination, or do they let people go if it simply isn't the best fit?

haha I don't have the stats, but it is fairly rare in my experience. The only case I have seen/heard of (not read about here) wasn't insubordination so much as just not being organized, no classroom management and being kind of aggressively non-open to help of assistance/feedback.
