It is all starting to get real. I completed all necessary steps for official passports yesterday. I got the email about EQIP and with the travel order packet this morning. I've finished the EQIP. I'm picking my children's medical releases up this afternoon, and my husband and my appts are scheduled for next week. I've sent in official transcripts. I don't see anything about fingerprints though. I had to be fingerprinted to teach in Texas. I wonder if this counts. I will probably need to email my rep. She said when she got everything back she could request travel orders. I guess that is when the final offer comes? How long does it take to get travel orders after all this, and when did you resign from your current position?

Thanks!

HeART Teacher @slp I'm sure you've probably posted this somewhere, but what date did you turn in your eqip/travel orders? Just wondering because I hope you getting your travel orders means I get mine soon!! :) (Also supposed to be there by August 5th)

slpgeek @heart teacher the last of the paperwork was turned in 6/29. And I got my travel orders yesterday. My hr rep is out of the office so I received them some one else. No final offer or passports yet though. I wound up calling yesterday and a few hours later got the orders. I hope you hear something soon! Every time I feel like I get over a hurdle it's...See More

HelpOthers Travel orders usually take 3 days to two week depending on how busy the people who need to approve each step in the process are and holidays, etc. Call Eugenia to ask about passports. She may be able to give you a better time frame.

HelpOthers Once you have orders, you are official. You may not get an "official" job offer, as the one you recieved became official once you met all the requirements.

HelpOthers Once you have your travel orders, you are official and know you report date, so this is the time to give notice to your current employer. You can provide a copy of the orders, which may also help you out of your contract if your employer is being difficult. Usually they won't argue with orders.
