Hi all, I have been searching this forum for about a month now. Currently I am enrolled in a five year master's program at a state college. I will be certified in middle school grades Math and Science with an Algebra I endorsement. I was wondering if anyone has previously had these certifications and would recommend trying to secure a secondary licensure for both subjects (as stated by DODEA credit hours). I know this is early for myself to be thinking about the process, but I would like to get a head start if at all possible.

Thanks!
IsItFriday? Yeah, of course. Get HS math and science (chem, bio, or physics) and then you've got the golden ticket.

It's not too early. These certs generally don't happen by accident.

Some new hires slide in the door a little light in the shoes, but many new hires have a slew of certs, including a couple of real strong ones.

haha I would agree. Math and Science for MS/HS would be great areas to have. Throw in some AP certs in those areas (and a few years of actual experience teaching those subjects) and you would be in great shape to maximize your chances with DoDEA.
