Received unexpected email from K-Town asking me for a phone interview in five days. The position is for Science and Math Educator. It is unusual for an open position in mid-year and students are often upset when they lose their teacher for whatever the reason. Has there been a recent opening in Kaiserslautern due to a resignation or death? Is Kaiserslautern an enduring post? Thank you.
Icanread I don't believe it's unusual for positions to be added mid-year. It's possible the teacher got moved into another position. If the teacher's spouse is active duty military and got assigned to another duty location, it's not unusual at all to move mid-year. haha It's a little uncommon but not all that unusual. As posted, students may or may not be upset but are generally pretty resilient and used to people moving through their lives.

K-Town would be a great posting and is not going anywhere. If you really want back into DoDEA this is the time to really pursue it. Good luck!

someday I received a referral about two weeks ago from KMS for ESL. Anything could have happened to why the position is open this time of year. I know of a situation where the teacher wanted to retire but couldn't until ten days after the year started so they couldn't hire for the position until the retirement went through.
