Hello!

I've read that over 300+ jobs are being eliminated with DODD. That is certainly not positive! I'm curious on a few things related to that.

1. It seems like a huge number. Proportionately, is this a huge percentage of the DOD teacher workforce?

2. Does this primarily affect only teachers? Admin? Support staff? No idea?

3. In my mind, when a school district eliminates position, they do not then hire new people. Is this correct in this case?

4. I saw, I think, that is mostly relating to high schools. If I'm hoping for a position at a high school, should I not get my hopes up, realistically?

I hope that things start to improve. I know it's a great organization, but it seems that there are some growing problems!
haha Yes, we've been posting about it here. It mostly is impacting secondary. We are just now finding out exactly how badly it is affecting individual schools. So far I have heard about schools losing 2 and 5 teachers each. It primarily affects teachers, although I have heard of at least one admin being excessed.
