I was wondering if anyone can share some information regarding the housing that is available when you get a position overseas. Does housing come furnished, or do you do that yourself? I sold me home in San Diego and gave away or sold all my furniture.

haha I have heard of people (but don't know them personally) who had the furniture separated out of the lease and paid for it themselves. I would agree that there are plenty of better options to furnish an apt. relatively cheaply.

Icanread Lots of opportunities to purchase furniture... local stores, thrift stores, Facebook yard sale groups, base furniture stores, etc.

HelpOthers When you know where you are going, join all the Facebook groups for that location. There are often freebie pages, trade/swap, and sell pages. There are also likely thrift stores of "stores" where items are free.
