I just got off the phone with HR in the States. I learned a few things. I'm a former local hire (no military connection) that had a run in with a bad admin in DoDDS. That admin has since retired and I've had my application in for 5 years. I've been told by people in DoDDS that have seen my application that my application looks great and exactly what they'd be looking for. However, I have only been on 3-4 referral lists (DEDDSS) in 5 years.

I thought my application was flagged by the admin I had trouble with. I learned that is not the case. I knew something else was wrong since all is good and I should be showing up on lists.

HR told me this: Hiring date started June 1, 2019.

Principals get a list of 25 people. There is no apparent

method to those 25 that show up n that list.

Make sure your school year is correct. (2019-2020) or you

won't show on current lists.

Also, things are changing in the future for hiring.

TheSuperDude Warmachine. Sorry to hear about your past experience with admin. It actually seems to be a common problem. Little oversight and way too much power is given to admin in DoDEA. They need to all be taken down a peg or two.

When you say run in, what does that mean? Where you let go during your probationary period? Or did you quit?

I didn't think about it since the check boxes were green, etc., but the year I uploaded them, the referrals started up again. Do as you like, but if it were me, I would upload at least those two documents each year wheth...See More

warmachine7954 I'm jsut stating what the helpful HR person said. However, we all know they can be wrong.

Where on the application does it say to upload them every year?

HelpOthers @warmachine7954, in the tab where the documents are uploaded, at the top of the page in red, it says you must upload the transcripts and teaching certificate for consideration. When you do this, one of the columns states the school-year to be considered.
