I received my "Official Offer" via email yesterday for an ET at Fort Jackson, SC. My start date is August 14. Does anyone know when insurance goes into effect? I don't want to resign my position without making sure I have continuity of coverage...

HopingForNews Worst case scenario: you can extend your current coverage for up to 18 months through COBRA by paying the full premium. You have 60 days to elect this coverage.

Teachin Yes, Cobra. I called and I can purchase 1 month of coverage for $875 :)

HelpOthers You will sign up for insurance immediately and it should take effect as soon as the payments start being deducted from your paychecks. You can also contact your current insurance and request COBRA (coverage to hold you over until the next one).
