I am at the point where I need to choose a research topic. Considering how difficult it is to get research activities approved by DODEA, what are some tips you can provide? It's my understanding that surveying students is a 'no-no' and surveying teachers can be tricky due to union laws. What would be acceptable?
Snow Lane Everyone I've spoken to goes outside the organization and contacts a district in their home state. Sorry to not be more helpful, but you might want to look at that route.

LolaTeach I thought of that, but my university requires me to research at my location. I'm really worried that I will spend a significant amount of time and money, only to hit a wall towards the end of the program.

Snow Lane How about surveying parents? Maybe do something about parent perceptions of whatever you're looking at?

HelpOthers DoDEA will not allow surveys. It is too cumbersome to have surveys approved. I would stick with anything that does not require them.
